Kakao (CEO Shina Chung) announced on the 11th that it has published the 2024 issue of its magazine "Partners with Kakao” containing stories about its coexistence with partners.

 

"Partners with Kakao" contains not only the stories about the growth of business partners using Kakao's platforms, but also of Kakao’s activities and achievements for coexistence. Kakao has published "Partners with Kakao" every year since 2017.

 

The 2024 issue of "Partners with Kakao" contained Kakao’s efforts to address social issues, including its inclusivity programs of its affiliates conducted in the first half of 2024. This year's publication comprises the following four sections: support for partners’ sustainable growth; linkage of users with partners; addressing social issues with technology; and accompanied growth with local communities. Also, the publication features not only interviews with partners, but also the stories of managers who has closely worked with partners.

 

First, the “Support for partners’ sustainable growth” section contains 9 interviews. Specifically, this section includes various stories of accompanied growth with Kakao as follows: “Eungubiseo-ro, Daejeon” which seizes an opportunity of digital transformation by participating in a project that develops a street for regulars; “Yeongam-gun” which has achieved the transaction values of KRW 110 million in 1 week with the Jegaburch Project; a family participating in the 1st Kakao Mobility Junior Lab that is an IT training program for youth and family; a manager launching the Kakao-like Value Monthly Donation Service; and a marketer planning the easier KakaoTalk user manuals.

 

The “Linkage of users with partners” section introduces the following: “Project Dangol” where Kakao provides small business owners with the digital transformation solutions; “Jegaburch” of Kakao Makers which improves the distribution structure so that the agricultural and marine products shall be sold at a proper price; “Kakao Creative Foundation” of Kakao Entertainment which operates the online creative academy and various supporting projects for prospective and established creators, etc.

 

The “Addressing social issues with technology” section contains Kakao's social impact project that supports the platform, content and technology to address social issues. This section also identified the following: the need for digital education for seniors to use Kakao Pay and understand digital financial services; Kakao Impact's “Tech for Impact” for cooperating with social innovators and technology experts to address social issues through technology from 2023, etc.

 

Lastly, the “Accompanied growth with local communities” section introduces various local cooperation programs including: “Kakao Tech Boot Camp” digital talent training; “Dolhareubang Surfing the Internet” answering public interest prayers of residents, organizations and agencies in Jeju Island, etc.

 

An official of Kakao stated, “Kakao will continue to support partners in various ways so that they could grow, and continue to device plans that could contribute to address social issues with its technology and assets”, adding “Kakao wishes that stories of partners who grew together with Kakao would be of help to prospective partners.”
