- Selected as a certified organization for three consecutive years in the Community Contribution Recognition Program led by the Ministry of Health and Welfare
- Honored for efforts to address social issues and support local communities particularly in Jeju, achieving the highest “S” rating this year
[December 24, 2025] Kakao (CEO Shina Chung) announced that the company has been selected for the third consecutive year as a recognized organization in the 2025 Community Contribution Recognition Program jointly administered by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Korea National Council on Social Welfare. Notably, the company earned the program’s highest distinction this year, receiving an S grade.
The Community Contribution Recognition Program is a system that officially acknowledges companies and institutions for their contributions to local communities through sustained social impact activities conducted in partnership with nonprofit organizations. Kakao was given top-tier scores across all ESG evaluation categories and was assessed as having reached “the stage of establishing an organizational culture for social contribution and expanding and improving related initiatives.”
Kakao has been recognized every year since first participating in the program in 2023 centered on its Jeju headquarters. It achieved the highest S grade in 2025, formally affirming the impact of its continued efforts.
Kakao has steadily strengthened its foundation for mutual growth with local communities in Jeju by supporting solutions to a range of social issues. Key initiatives that received strong recognition include: “Internet Dolhareubang,” a project that helps fulfill public-interest wishes from Jeju residents; “Jeju Impact Challenge,” which empowers residents to define and solve local issues themselves; Talent development programs such as Kakao Track; and various career experience programs aimed at nurturing local youth.
“We are deeply honored to receive community contribution recognition for three consecutive years. Kakao will continue its efforts to create sustainable change across areas that local communities need the most, including the environment, education, youth, and culture,” a Kakao official said.
