Daum enters Music Business with top singer Park Jin-young“s JYP Entertainment

August 30, 2001 - Daum Communications(CEO Lee Jae-woong, www.daum.net) enters the music business with a partnership with a top singer Park Jin-young.
On the 30th, Daum held a board of directors meeting and decided to invest 3.5 billion won in JYP Entertainment, operated by a top singer, Park Jin-young to acquire 50% shares.
Daum“s CEO Lee said, "In order to advance as a next generation media company based on Korea“s largest user base, we decided to directly enter the entertainment contents business. We plan to build a robust brand and marketing power covering both offline and online business together with JYP Entertainment. We also expect to achieve a solid online music contents and further enhance our media influence."
