Daum Communications Allies with IB Sports to Reinforce Sports Content Service

20006-07-26, Daum Communications (www.daum.net) said it sealed a contract with IB Sports on July 26th acquiring the right to broadcast sports games over the Internet through 2012.
IB Sports is a comprehensive sports marketing agency and, as one of the largest sports agencies in Korea, it holds a large variety of sports marketing licenses, forming various networks in the domestic and overseas sports markets. With this tie-up, Daum will be able to relay live sports content in the sports section of Media Daum and provide content in such diversified formats as video-on-demand and mobile images of highlights.
Under the terms of the contract, Daum Communications will matches over the Internet starting with the preliminary games of the 2007 Asian Football Confederation championship, which will open in August this year and extend to the through 2012. Games to be covered will include: ▲ soccer games to be held by the Asian Football Confederation from 2006 to 2012 ▲ final preliminary games of 2010 World Cup Asia ▲ final preliminary soccer games of 2008 Olympics ▲ 2006~2012 Asia Youth Championship and Asia Women Soccer Championship ▲ regional preliminary games of 2007 Australia and Japan Asian Cup, as well as ▲ Korean Basketball League games to be held between 2005 and 2009, ▲ no holds barred fighting games ‘PRIDE FC’ and WWE professional wrestling games, ▲ and 2006 international volleyball federation (FIVB) championship. In addition, Daum Communications has also secured the rights to resell content for all of these games via the Internet as well as the rights to be the first bidder on other sports content to be secured by IB Sports in the future.
