- Improved access to safety points for HD Hyundai Electric employees

- Accelerated B2B expansion through open point partnership

 

[September 8, 2025] Kakao Pay (CEO Shin Won-keun) announced that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with HD Hyundai Electric (CEO Kim Young-gi) to integrate HD Safety Pay Points with Kakao Pay Points.

 

The signing ceremony took place on September 5 at HD Hyundai Electric headquarters in Ulsan. The two companies agreed to build a point integration system. Kakao Pay Vice President Baek Seung-jun, HD Hyundai Electric Vice President Lee Chang ho, and HD Hyundai in-house partner council chair Lee Moo-deok attended with key executives from both companies.

 

The companies will build a system that connects HD Safety Pay Points with Kakao Pay Points. These points serve as incentives for HD Hyundai Electric employees safety efforts. When the system goes live, employees of HD Hyundai Electric and its partner companies will be able to convert safety points to Kakao Pay Points and use them at Kakao Pay online and offline merchants.

 

After partnerships with HD Hyundai Heavy Industries and HD Hyundai Samho, Kakao Pay is expanding its B2B model through this collaboration with HD Hyundai Electric. This will speed up growth of the Kakao Pay Point ecosystem. This open point partnership improves employee welfare and incentive efficiency for corporate partners. The partnership also helps Kakao Pay strengthen its payment ecosystem by expanding the user experience and the distribution network for Kakao Pay Points.

 

Kakao Pay Points are Kakao Pay’s own points used for payments. Users can use any amount from 1P as cash when paying with Kakao Pay Money at online or offline stores. For example, users can buy a ₩10,000 product by paying ₩9,000 in Kakao Pay Money and 1,000P in Kakao Pay Points.

 

HD Hyundai Electric CSO Yoon Hoo-jin stated, “We are making various efforts to strengthen employees safety awareness in our safety first industrial sites. Through this partnership, as well as safety awareness projects, competency training, and campaigns, we will keep building a safer workplace.”
