[March 31, 2026] Kakao will take the accessibility and convenience of national pension services to the next level by leveraging its proprietary AI technology.

 

On March 31, Kakao (CEO Shina Chung) announced that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the National Pension Service (CEO Sung-joo Kim; hereinafter “NPS”) for “AI-Driven Public Service Innovation and Operational Transformation” at the NPS headquarters in Jeonju, Jeollabuk-do.

 

The agreement aims to innovate public services through public-private AI collaboration and accelerate AI-driven transformation across the public sector. Leveraging its AI technologies and platform capabilities, Kakao plans to create an environment where the public can access and use pension services more easily and conveniently. The two organizations will also explore various initiatives to integrate AI into the NPS’s administrative operations.

 

“At its core, the national pension serves as a foundation for the people’s future, while Kakao plays a role in enabling that value to be experienced in everyday life,” said CEO Shina Chung during the signing ceremony. “Through Kakao’s AI technologies and platforms, we will deliver meaningful change so that the public can naturally understand and utilize pension services in familiar digital environments—without requiring complex procedures or additional learning.”

 

NPS CEO Sung-joo Kim stated, “Through our partnership with Kakao, we will integrate AI into both pension services and administrative operations, allowing the people to access accurate pension information anytime, anywhere, while improving the efficiency and transparency of our work.” He added, “We aim to become an institution that delivers tangible value to the public and local communities through a transformative shift toward AI-driven innovation.”

 

Meanwhile, Kakao has been expanding the accessibility and convenience of public services, including the launch of the “AI National Secretary Pilot Service” in collaboration with the Ministry of the Interior and Safety earlier in March. Building on this agreement with NPS, the company plans to further expand the application of AI-driven services across public services closely connected to citizens’ daily lives. (E.O.D.)
