Ground X, a blockchain subsidiary of Kakao, announced today it holds its first blockchain forum titled TXGX 2018 for July 20 and July 21 in Jeju Island, South Korea.

Keynote speeches and panel discussions under the themes of scalability, storage, privacy and consensus algorithm are scheduled to take place.

At TXGX 2018, Ground X will bring top figures including Dawn Song, Co-founder of Oasis Labs; Loi Luu, CEO of Kyber Network; Xinshu Dong, CEO of Zilliqa to the stage to share their insights on how blockchain technology is going to change the world.

Kakao, the operator of South Korea’s dominant messaging app, established Ground X in May this year in an effort to expand its businesses overseas. Ground X headquartered in Japan plans to launch its blockchain test net by September and main net by the year-end. Its goal is to make blockchain more accessible to people without having to know the crypto language with more user-friendly interfaces.

Jason Han, Ground X’s CEO said, “Although blockchain is emerging as one of the most transformative technologies for years to come on the global level, the extent of discussion about blockchain in Korea is still in its infancy. We hope TXGX 2018 will serve as an occasion to attract interest in Korea’s blockchain technologies from across the globe, and to boost discussion among developers and engineers.”

Developers who are interested in joining the forum can apply at http://txgx.io, TXGX 2018 webpage, by July 8. Ground X will individually notify the selected 100 developers by July 11.
