Shina Chung Meets Kakao Group’s New Entry-Level Crew, Presents Growth Roadmap for the AI Era

- Core quality of “AI-native talent” is the ability to ask questions and make sound judgments

- Emphasizes bold “unlearning,” letting go of past success formulas to relearn and grow

[January 8, 2026] Chairperson Shina Chung of the Kakao Group CA Consultative Body held her first meeting with the company’s 2026 group entry-level recruits, personally communicating Kakao’s growth direction and ways of working in the AI era.

The Kakao Group announced that Chung met with the new recruits at Kakao AI Campus in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province on January 7 for an open conversation session titled “Conversation with the Chair – Fireside Chat.”

At the event, Chung encouraged the new crew members to grow into “AI-native talent.” She defined AI-native talent as individuals who treat AI as a colleague, clearly communicate what is needed, and actively leverage AI tools in their work. “In this time and age, AI tools are your copilot. The key is not the tools themselves, but what questions you ask and what judgments you make based on the given information and context,” she commented.

She added that the Kakao Group has continuously worked to discover inconveniences that users may not even be aware of, striving to create better everyday experiences. “Those who identify root causes even before they surface as problems and propose better alternatives are ultimately the ones who drive change,” she noted. Her message highlighted the hope that new crew members will grow into leaders who redefine problems and design solutions in their respective roles.

In relation to this message, Chung also introduced “unlearning” as a key theme. According to her, since yesterday’s answers may not be correct today, individuals must let go of the assumption that their past ways are always right and remain open to learning and growth. “Continue humanities learning to deepen your thinking, but in technical learning, you should open the ceiling and switch tracks faster—that’s how your growth speed accelerates dramatically,” she said.

The session featured not only questions about company operations but also active discussions on careers and leadership. Drawing from her own experience, Chung shared practical advice and words of encouragement in a relaxed, open atmosphere.

Meanwhile, the Kakao Group is conducting its “2026 Group Entry-Level One Kakao Onboarding” program for all newly hired recruits from January 5 to 16. This session will be followed by onboarding programs tailored to each affiliate and job function. (E.O.D.)
